The thing is that LIFE is not stable, it is like a tempestuous sea tossing us to and fro. I have a hard time believing that anyone in this world could live a stable and peaceful life for very long. I mean look around us right now, our economy is on the brink, our presidential future is yet to be seen, our beliefs and laws of our society are being challenged and changed all around us.
Even my own life right now seems to be a roller coaster ride of circumstances, struggles, and emotional and spiritual confusions. As I sit here and think of all that has happened this year, good and bad, the one thing that gives me hope and great joy, is that there is a way to have true and perfect stability in a life of ups and downs. A stability that is unending and that is not defined by what is taking place around us.
I want to share this verse with you that is on my heart, it has been such a blessing time and time again in my life and many others as well.
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
Isaiah 43: 1-3
I don't think I need to say much more. There is s song that I LOVE to sing, the words are so true and I hope and pray that you all are on the solid rock that is Christ, He is our anchor and our hope. This world WILL grow more and more sinful and out of control. What is bringing you stability in your life and your families lives? I will leave you with the words to this beautiful song.
